about
"When in Ruins was inspired by the unstoppable need of transferring our perception of trivial reality to the immaterial world of music, by instinctively comprehending the time reflection of a projected scenery. All you need is the need of need." ~Craang
lyrics
When everyone is gone
I’ll walk among your ruins
Meaningless legacy
In the hands of the universe
Turn into dust from birth to death in instants
One by one as you fall
One by one as you fall
…Again
And the wind never sleeps
But the windmills stay still
Enters in my soul
Empty the buildings
Empty the streets
My curse is to see all this happening again
And the wind never sleeps
But the windmills stay still
Enters in my soul
All the dark folk, gothic, garage, 60s psychedelia and beat poetry influences aside, Cyanna Mercury's sound is so fundamentally Greek, in a captivating and almost primal way. An imposing work of art. Archaeopia
As a Frenchman, I discovered VIC very late (2019-2020). I fell in love with Age Of Aquarius. Well, I have to say: I love Riza even more.
If you love Greece (I've been there 4 times), you'll love VIC: a rock marked by traditional Greek music and instruments. Slasher ✨
How lucky of me to find this band, and what a shame it took them 8 albums for me to find them. In particular, I love the swagger/frivolity of their playing.
Also the delicacy of the guitarist on some tracks (reminds of Stone Rebel at times)
Fav track: I am the beyonder ooijerm
Mystical new single from Australian psych project the Dandelion features twisting Farfisa lines, ghostly vocals, and spaced out atmosphere. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 16, 2018
